What we store

What you type and the steps you were shown are saved in this browser's storage, and nowhere else. Your progress is saved in this browser. Others using this browser may see your progress. You can remove it at any time: My Progress has Remove for one entry and Clear this list for every topic and step saved in this browser. If you joined a class with a code, this browser also keeps a class cookie for up to a year. It records which class this browser joined and when, and nothing that names you. Clear this list does not remove it; clearing this site's data in your browser does. Students have no account and nothing syncs.

Analytics

Compass sends a few coded signals to its own server when you ask for a step, see one, or tap a choice: the kind of step shown and its source, and, for a reviewed step, which topic and which step of it you were on, which try it was, and how you said it went (or that you only looked at it). When you tap a topic under "Tap the one you're working on", it also sends one broad label worked out from your words: schoolwork, writing, money, exercise, focus, rest and stress, or general. Your words themselves are never sent, and the step signal is checked against a fixed list of coded values before it is stored. The signals are stored without anything that links them to you.

Your rights

You can remove any entry, or every topic and step Compass saved in this browser, from My Progress. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes those and the class cookie too. Compass creates no student account and sends none of your work to its servers. The coded signals above are stored without anything that links them to you, so nothing stored can be picked out as yours to export or delete.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and note the date of the change. We will not retroactively apply new data practices to existing users without clear notice.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your goals with third parties.
• We do not use your goals to train AI models.
• We do not show you advertising based on your goals.
• We do not store your raw goal text in analytics.
